Brian’s Story

There is nothing more important to me than preparing my children for the future and helping them succeed at school. The new voucher program is helping me do exactly that.

When I was younger, I attended a private school and it was always a dream of mine for my children to do the same. This year, I found out about the voucher program and it seemed like the perfect chance for my children to receive the type of education that I wanted for them.

In public school, my 7-year-old son was young for his grade level. At the end of his first-grade year, the school felt he was ready to move to second grade. I did not agree because I did not want him to constantly struggle and fall behind. In contrast, my 9-year-old daughter was a straight-A student in her public school, but she wasn’t being challenged and she desperately needed more out of her classes.

Thanks to the voucher program, my kids have transferred into a school that meets their educational needs. The school immediately realized that my son was struggling to keep up and allowed him the option of staying in first grade. My son decided to do so, and the school could not have handled it in any better. They have made my son feel welcomed while helping him succeed at the same time. In addition, my daughter is now being challenged and that is good for her future.

My children have embraced the challenge of their new school and I could not be happier that I was able to make this choice for them. The process was very simple and efficient and our new school has been extremely accepting. This has been the perfect situation for my family.

While I realize that private schooling is not the right fit for every family, the voucher program has allowed my children to receive an education based on their needs. I hope that this decision prepares them for college and, in the end, leads them to a happy and fulfilling life. The voucher program has helped me accomplish what is most important: helping my kids succeed and preparing them for the future.
