The Institute for Quality Education
is a locally based non-profit organization focused on improving the quality of education for all Indiana students.

Voucher Eligibility

General Voucher

  • Indiana resident AND
  • Families at 150%, or below, the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Income Guidelines AND
  • Child attended public school in Indiana the full previous school year AND
  • Child is entering first grade or higher

"F" School Voucher

  • Indiana resident AND
  • Families at 150%, or below, the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Income Guidelines AND
  • Child is assigned to an "F" public school

Sibling Voucher

  • Indiana resident AND
  • Families at 150%, or below, the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Income Guidelines AND
  • One sibling within the household received a voucher or tax credit scholarship from a scholarship granting organization (SGO) in a previous school year 

Special Needs Voucher

  • Indiana resident AND
  • Families at 200%, or below, the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Income Guidelines AND
  • Child has a current Individual Education Program (IEP) or Individualized Service Plan (ISP)

Re-Applying for a Voucher

  • Indiana resident AND
  • Families at 200%, or below, the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Income Guidelines AND
  • Child received a voucher in a previous school year

Income Eligibility Guidelines

The value of the voucher is the lesser of three amounts:

  1. Tuition and fees at the eligible school
  2. $4,800 (for grades 1-8)
  3. An amount based off the per-student state funding for the student's school corporation of residence, determined as follows:
  • 90% of the funding formula amount if household income is up to 100% of reduced lunch eligibility (see chart below)
  • 50% of formula amount if household income is up to 150% of Reduced Lunch
